If you are a member of a Horticultural Society, a Garden Club, a Flower Group or a Social Club and you are looking for a speaker who can attend your meetings then you might be interested in booking me to talk about orchids.  I can offer a variety of talks as follows:

• Beginner Orchids - Care and Cultivation  Learn how orchids first arrived in Britain, how they have been hybridised and how to look after Beginner Level orchids (Phalaenopsis) improving their culture and getting them to flower again.  Talk is 45 minutes followed by a 15 minute repotting demonstration and a question & answer session.
• Intermediate Level Orchid Care  This Talk covers more adventurous and unusual orchids such as Cymbidium, Dendrobium, Oncidium and Vanda, which all require different types of care, but can be grown in your home once you have the 'know how'.  Talk is 45 minutes followed by a 15 minute repotting demonstration and a question& answer session.
• Orchidmania - The Early Orchid Plant Hunters   Learn about the Early Orchid Plant Hunters who risked their lives to collect orchids from the Tropics.  What was Orchidmania and why is it still as popular as ever?  Discover why it is that in Victorian times only the very rich could collect orchids, but now we can all buy them cheaply and keep them in our homes.  Talk is 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes further discussion/questions & answers session.

• Advanced Orchid Growing & Unusual Species -  This Talk is for those people who are becoming orchid enthusiasts and wish to learn about the abundance of orchid species available to grow in greenhouses such as Cattleya, Laelia, Coelogyne, Bulbophyllum.  Learn how to grow orchids in a greenhouse and what equipment you will need.  Talk is 45 minutes followed by a 15 minute demonstration showing how mount an orchid on bark.
